GSX is almost done! Tell me what you think.

Picked up a 91 gsx from Eric and it had a bad head and no offense Eric but was dirty and filthy as holy hell. So alot of cleaning a motor teardown resulted in this.

the bottom end oil pan gasket is shot and needs to be replaced. It wasn't bad until this happened. I figure its been losing oil for 3 or so months now and I just figured out where its all going. Also had oil under the spark plug cover. Plugs looked ok though. I'm still not convinced the head gasket is 100% good either.

No offence taken - I didn't attempt to clean the car a whole lot, i was focused on getting the parts to make it usable again, mainly the interior.

Wish you hadn't hosted with bucket so I could see them :(

Hey! Looks awesome! I?m jealous of your abundance of parts laying in the background of your pictures. Anything you want to get rid of? A cylinder head perhaps? :-)


That head is the one that came with the car and according to the guy at cylinder head service its garbage. He said the cams would work in that head cause its twisted so bad. i bolted in a set of cams and they turned very well. the valves do leak so they probably do need to be lapped, but the surface seems fairly flat. This is the same guy that told Eric that another head was garbage and is on a dsm right now running very well. if you wanted to take it somewhere else to have it checked out you should. id let the head go for $40 obo. doesnt have cams.

40 bucks sounds reasonable. I would like to come by and take a look at it first thought.
