well got the new motor in the mustang today, gonna give it another go.. went pretty mild on the set-up this time, bought this motor from a co-worker, fresh build 306, balanced, rod bolts, e7's, e303 cam, hopin i have a little more luck this time..

what happen to the last motor?

last motor lost oil pressure.. not sure why, had it running for a while but couldnt get the EFI to work right... switched to carb set-up and figured i'd be alright without an oil press gauge for a couple days drove it about 3 mile just checkin it out, came home it was idling in the driveway while i was tweakin the A/F on the carb, and the whole top end just started to rattle... pulled the turbo feed line and nuthin.. so i pushed it in the garage pulled the motor, tore it down and found nothing wrong with it. it just wont pressurize the system. tried 2 oil pumps, 2 pickup tubes, and a high speed drill on the oil pump drive shaft,, starts to pick up oil but then stops.. 3 people came and checked it out but didnt help.. so i just started over again..
