Going with basicly stock short block except for Comp cams Xtreme Energy XE274HR Hydraulic Roller Camshaft Lift: .555''/.565'' Duration: 274ー/282ー RPM Range: 2200-6200. Running a set of D0OE heads ported and polished by Bill with 1.6 roller rockers and topped by a port matched Edelbrock air gap and holley 600. Exhaust is flowmaster long headers with Flowmasters and dumped at the rear end. I wonder what kind of HP it will put down. The cam is a Nitrous cam so I can maybe spray some to it later. What do you all think???
Need to find a mid 80's truck clutch bracket that bolts to the bellhousing so I can run my stock Z bar. It looks something like this.

Dan thats the same cam i ran in the red car that went 11.20s. The kicker to this cam is how much compression are you going to be at? I would hope you have bill mill those down to at least a 58cc chamber or so at least. I had that same combo except i had some cleaned up edelbrock performers but my compression was too low off the bottle at about 9.3-9.4 or so. If you can get some compression or at least deck the block some a bit as well it'll help.

Decking the block would worry me because it looks like the pistons are already at 0 deck...

Nope, Dynomax's have less decibles and flow better across the board. And they arent on every single muscle car ever built.

But I'm a rare one that likes quite and fast.

Dan, this is John that you got the cruise parts from for your sons car. I think you will be better off with the trick Flow cam. That Comp cam is to big, That is the cam I am using in my car.

Thanks again John!!!

Well looks like I am going 5.0 with a 5 speed swap... Gonna go back to the 3:55 posi in the rear. Should make the car much nicer to drive.
