Well it was a rough day at the track, I ran a couple 13's today, that was rock solid. My first two runs I popped out of gear on the launch, after my 2nd run I stopped on the back side and Tried a 5500 rpm launch, no pop out problems. On my third run I held the shifter in gear and launched about 5500-5700 and my tranny made a hideous noise. When I got my time slip back it read as follows:
Reaction: .3220
60 ft: 1.7601
1/8 ET: 7.7158
1/8 MPH: 92.06
1/4 ET: 11.9950
1/4 MPH: 113.31
From here it went to intermission and Kryptosol (Meng) and I were both trying to figure out why we're both wheel hopping like crazy instead of spinning. As we walked up to the launch pad we noticed they were spraying VHT. From there Meng was one of the first races on the fresh coat of VHT and upon his launch snapped one of his axles and a couple minutes later a VW snapped an axle. At this point I decided to call it a day thinking about the noise my tranny made on my previous run thanks to a lil' knowledgable conversation I had with Meng. All in all I'm astonished with my 11.99 and will be headed to the dyno at the end of the month to see what kind of horsepower my car is truely putting down.

Nice job man!
What a bunch of useless power i'm putting down, and damn that "RTV" and stock axles. :(
Time to sell and start a new project or take a long long break.

Ive got the Napa life timers, but thanks for offering Russell.
For a change i'd actually like to just get a nice clean stock car. This car is like the black hole, it just keeps sucking down my time and money, and keeping me from doing other things i want to pursue. At times my awsome girlfriend thinks that she has to compete with my car, thats how bad it gets. haha...
I'm not sure yet if i'm just gonna sell off the motor and turbo stuff and keep the shell or sell the whole thing.
The main thing that came about this build is that i learned something, and i can always replicate it at a later time when money and time is more plentiful.

Or you can set it on the back burner and come back to it in a few months.

That is what its all about! Very well said!
I to think of cars as more of a lab then anything else.
The Honda taught me a lot about EFI and now the Talon about how AWD's are a nice package for everything.
But now its time to build the next toy. So my son is going to end up with the Talon and my next project this winter is going to be a
EFI-Turbo powered SBC Camaro.

Ha! For a second there I thought you were headed to the "Waste Management Plant" (aka: porta-poty) to shed some weight from the car.
Let us know what you find on the trans. The 11 second club is totally awesome for a 240. Nice work-

dude that sucks to hear. sorry I didn't call you back, my phone battery died and i didn't get my nitrous filled, so I decided not to come up.
it's funny because im thinking about selling my car and starting a new project too. its a lose/lose situation though regardless of if we keep or sell our cars.

As far as I know this was the last day, which sucks cuz my car runs strong with this cold air at night. Getting on the freeway tonight I was spinning 3rd a bit on my street tires with 2 drag radials, jack, and some tools in my trunk:)
