I'm just compiling a list of places to obtain some quotes for painting the 69. I hear a lot of people who dont like maaco, but i've seen quite a few nice paintjobs come from them, so thats on the list. I've also seen some good work from custom auto body on monroe which i'm going to look into, any good, yet semi-cheap places to get a car sprayed?

I am looking to have a header panel and cowl hood painted this winter. I have been talking with Mike over at Artistic Auto Body about it. If I recall correctly, I think Brian at Shelly's (twotons) gave me that reference.

Regarding Maaco, I bought my hood from streamline muscle parts here in town. Travis at streamline said that maaco out in the valley does a good job painting cars. His comment was that maaco can do a nice job if you bring your car in ready for paint and pay for the good paint. He said the job is only as good as your prep work which makes sense.

yeah thats exactly what i heard about maaco, if you prep the car nicely and take it in there it'll turn out nice, and i've seen quite a few nice cars come out of there, i think for the price i'll give it a shot.
