This is a car I was looking at buying for my son but its to much work for me at this time.

He is asking $700.00

It had the transfer case lock up on the freeway and it took out the output-shaft to the diff.

The rear diff is out of the car and needs to be put back in. He has a new output-shaft and transfer case that gos with the car.

The pass side quarter panel has a dent in it. The rest of the body has a few dings a dents in it but not to bad. Th interior is in nice condition.

The car is located in Coeur d' Alene.

His phone number is 208-964-3596 ask for Camarin.

Im always in the market for parts...

Just a thought...On the off chance is there anyone who would want to go in on this with me...I really only need a cyl head and if its got a 4bolt rear end thats all i care about. Ive got acess to a truck and can always rent a flatbed from uhaul for the day. Ive got room beside my shop to store it if needed.

I'll try to go by there tomorrow and take some pics. I told the guy I would post it on Spokanespeed for him and see what happens.

So i went and looked at this car on Friday. On first look it was a gold mine. 4bold rear end w/ lsd, Spare 1g 60mm tb w/ all sensors, spare tcase, 2pistion calip, *supposedly* running complete 4g63 engine (stock), decent interior...All for only 700 bucks!

The owner couldn?t meet me because he had to work but left the car unlocked for me - rather nice gesture! I took some snapshots and closely look at the car and here is what i found. The rear diff and axels have been removed and are sitting in the trunk. The driveshaft is being supported by the carrier bearings. The tcase has been unbolted and is hanging on by the input shaft from the tranny. Under the hood all the exhaust manifold nuts have been removed and some studs are missing (couldnt tell if it had been striped). The tranny had been unbolted (front axels still in place) and you could see the fly wheel between the block and bell housing. Turbo seemed to be in decent condition (no significant shaft play). Judging by the engine compartment it looked like the car had been driven thru the Mojave desert and never bothered to be cleaned.

So after spending 30 minutes examining the car in detail i called the owner and offered him 600 cash and was accepted. I told the owner i will come by Saturday with the money in hand and a tow truck standing by once the necessary paperwork was signed! I was stoked to finally get my parts car!

So today i go to meet the owner, cash in hand and ready to take this bad boy home before someone else came along and snatched it up. Before i left Spokane i called the owner to ensure he had the title and everything was good on his end. I finally get out to CDA around 6pm and it turns out the owner doesnt have the title. Not that he didnt have the title but that he also never bothered to transfer it into his name when he bought the car some time ago. Im like FAWK!!! Your joking! I wasnt about to pay some dude cash for a car without the title. Shit, with my luck its either stolen or doesnt belong to him and i would be screwed when/if the actual title owner comes-a-knockin on my door. I explained my concerns to the owner, he understood, i offered him 300 instead for the car, was declined and i walked away.

So anyhow, sorry this was sucha long post. Maybe passing this up is a mistake on my part but the whole deal left a sour taste in my mouth. If anyone else is interested you now have the low down on this car. Below are the highlights of the pictures i took...

One last note: The car is a 93 which means it has a 7 bolt crank unless the engine was swapped. I didn?t even think to check the oil pan to determine if it is indeed a 7 bolt HOWEVER when I was reviewing the pictures I took I noticed the spark plug cover has what appears to be ?90? written in white chalk / white out ? one could assume this MAY mean the engine was swapped out with a 90 (6 bolt) in which case it may not be such a bad deal after all ? missing title or not?

I still think im gunna pass...Even if the title shows up. The dude was nice but it was a flaky ass deal and I don?t feel that I can trust him.

Im lucky enough to have an insulated shop on the back of my house. My neighbors call it "the cathedral" cuz its so big...hehe. This will be my first winter in Spokane but I understand it gets rather cold so I wouldnt mind allowing some trustworthy spokanespeeders a place to work on their cars this winter.

Gawd! Here i was thinking the fellow DSMers would have respect for one another's property, etc. Perhaps youll just have to work in the cold afterall...HAHA.

No seriously, if any of the dsmers needs a warm dry place to work on their rig i dont mind letting them use my shop as long as you clean up after yourself and bring your own tools. Gotta watch your language arround the little ones too.

Yeah, I remember. I didn't know that was your ECU and MAF. I was the one helping him try and get that POS running. Sorry to hear you have a bad taste in your mouth about Eric. I personaly think he wont stiff you. He thinks pretty highly of you.. At least from all the conversations I've had with him that your name has come up..

He PMd me later today and said he would have my money tomorrow so I think it will all work out.

It has just been a long time and I'm tried of getting ripped off. F2uning taking me for $1500.00 left me a little paranoid and its hard to trust people now.

Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!

My story is one where I paid them $1500.00 up front to do x amount of work on a VW engine. They never did the work and took my money.

But a friend put it best when he said "look at it this way if they would of finished your engine you would of been out 3k to 4k and then it would of blown up in less then two days anyway.:P
