Hey I was wondering if I could get someone to paint some black stripes down the middle of my mustang from bumper to bumper. The paint is one of those 300.00 Single stage Maaco Jobs. If possible I would like to see the whole process from start to finish! Also there are some runs on the spoiler that would have to be sanded down etc. I do not want to use vinyl... I am open to options.
Thanks.
Mark.

hardest part would be masking them off so they're even on each side and even whole length of the car

Masking them would not be that hard to do, just need a tape meassure some blue fineline and a little talent. Anyway you can shoot me a pm and I could quote you a price if you would like.
Did you pay for the $300 paint job?? Sometime the shitty paint places like that use react to new/better products being put over the top. Not hard to test a small spot of of sight to see what we can do.
Just so you know the stripes are going to cost more than the $300 paint job thats on the car if you want them done right.

Yeah actually it was $284.00 LOL I did all the prep work, sanding etc. But if you would have seen the poor car before. LOL I have a paint gun but never used it and got scared to shoot my own car. You know when I tried to paint over the overspray in the grill area there was a lot of wrinkling... hmmm?
I bought the car for 2100.00 had the tranny done for 1700.00 and tires, wheels and tune up etc. it is branded with a rebuilt title so actually the car is not worth a whole lot. Hence the reason I went with the cheap paint job. But it has been dependable and fun for the most part. I put 16K since march... so... there you have it... I do think the stripes would break up the yellow nicely though. I will PM you next week when I return. Thanks for your replies guys!!

I think some C stripes on the side would look sweet. Kind of like what was on the 69 boss 302's, maybe reversed, may look better. Just a suggestion.

I disagree...I have never liked the C stripes....
Racing stripes look pretty sweet if they are done right.

The C stripes might not be a bad idea.....We will just have to lay some tape down and see what you like.

I know this guy, who can do vinyl for me, instead of masking... Just lay it shoot and peel off... Well I guess anyway! I have seen the same thing done on TV! LOL I just want to learn the process!

I have worked with this guy a lot and some of the smaller jobs he ran with others on the side for me. :) The center stripes definately would be cheaper to have you do... I was thinking more along the lines of the rocker panel stripes and text like the Mach1's have. :)
