383 4 bolt main
eagle 4340 crank
6in 4340 eagle H beam rods
probe 11.1 flattop pistons
studed mains arp bolts on everything
ported sportman 2 heads
comp mech roller cam 582int 588exh crane mech roller lifters
vic jr 850 holley
cold fusion pro fogger

th350 with a brake and a 4000 stall built by trannyman

and way more crap haha 8point cage going in soon. car will have int but not all of it dash has been gutted and im saven weight were i can shooting for 3000 pounds with out my fat ass in it. im hoping after tuning the engine and susp, i get 11.60s out of it on engine may go faster or slower not sure. then the spray will go on and well we will see lol

thats bad ass man, i've impressed! and I think your 11.60 idea may be a little modest. Just from experiece of a buddies malibu (he has a similar build, maybe slightly more motor) and his dips into the 11.0's in spokane on a good day. So I think you have a great foundation for some nice passes. I look forward to seeing it at the track!

I no the front end is still sitting high but lots more weight to put on. and btw I no i need to clean my shop lol.

Those wheels and rear suspension look great. Tell me this did not start as an oil change, and then you said "As long as I'm in there, I might as well... [fill in the blank].

And the "blank" just got bigger and bigger and more and more full, until finally you had a frame-off.

:)

well no not really but i was planning on just cleaning the front frame and painting it then well got down on the ground and started unbolting the body lol and thats how it happend lol. I got the header panel on today I have to say i would rather put the body back on then fight that stupid pos haha.

That thing looks really good Nathan. I think its going to be a bit faster than 11.60's. I am the guy Metz was talking about with a similar build and from what you listed it seems like yours should keep up pretty good because it should be a bit lighter than mine. I really like what you did with notching the frame! How hard was that to do? Cause i'm just running 28x9x15's on mine and it would be pretty beneficial with my HP to have a little more rubber on the track surface.

Keep us updated, The car looks great!

thanks alot man and I have seen your car a few times and its a very nice car. and the frame notch was pretty easy since i had the body off the frame, I have seen lots of guys do the notch with the body on with the same tools i used just basic stuff. It took me about 3 nights after work to get it done. if you do a notch bigger then mine do it to the skin and do a little more bracing and do new tubs you can get a 315 or up to a 325 on the back of these cars with stock susp. maliburacing.com is the best gbody site out there dont no if you no about it but lots of really fast cars on there and there all willing to help.

Yea, I went on there to get some of the information i got on some stuff to do my car. They were really helpful whenever i had questions. I wish i could get about 400 lbs off my car, but for now i will just have to deal with it cause i am done spending money on it for now lol.

Hey your headliner is done at the upholstery shop but i didnt have time to pick it up friday. Gonna get it monday, slap it back in and get on with the rollbar install. I also got most of the nitrous stuff installed on your new manifold too.
I should have the whole deal done early next week although im thinking about making your rear firewall while im at it since i could make it one piece and slide the rear tubes thru as i do it.
Would be a LOT cooler looking than having to cut it all up to go around the bars eh?

Nathan J
03-28-2010, 10:58 AM
well hell marty I really like that idea I was sweating doing that rear firewall haha. and thats great about the headliner it was worth having it redone now. Let me no man if you need anything or what not just give me a call!

Hers some progress pix for ya Nathan. So far so good. Back bars are tacked in right now and im gonna see if i can pattern the firewall to see if i can make it all one piece. Its kind of a bitch to do but looks WAAAY cooler so what the hell why not. LOL
There will be aluminum floor plates covering the access holes when im all done.
