I'm torn apart on getting some snow tires or just grab a beater for winter. What are you all going to ride for the snow?

I can wait for the snow but with my luck it wont snow until late Dec/Jan. It will be intreesting to see how the Talon does in the snow. All of the AWD/4WDers should get together in an empty parking lot on the first snow and tear up some donughts!

Last couple years I couldn't get my car moving because I park it in the side of the road and I don't want to do that again. But then again I had summer tires on and a stage 3 clutch so that didn't help. I might look into the Blizzak WS-50's. Unless someone has a cheap reliable beater they wanna give up. =D

I have all season tires and they worked very well for me last year with my rear wheel drive.
P.S. I HATE SNOW!

drive my mx-3 with all-season radials on it. winter before last one I drove with bald tires...and did fine. With spokanites not being able to drive there's gonna be lots of wrecks (especially all those Californians that never seen snow) I can't assure my safety cause of idiots on the streets. Even in todays rain every hick tried to "burn out" his one legged beater around traffic lights.

I miss our 84 2.8L. Had to get rid of it since tranny went out and it was $2500 to repair it.

Well I suppose that would work. But the 4x4's can go to the ORV park and tear it up without getting in trouble. However the AWD'ers might need to stick with the parking lots.

Ya I hear ya on that! That would be why I wouldn't spend my time doing doughnuts in a parking lot.

Kinda regret selling it but we couldn't come up with 2500 to spend on trans. It was lifted, new tires/brakes etc. Engine was like new, didnt smoke/leak. Perfect winter cruiser

hey, i'm a Cali guy and i don't get into wrecks that aren't my fault. what can you do when someone pulls out in front of you when they are at a stop sign and you have the right of way or when a deer goes suicidal and plays chicken with you and loses or when someone cuts you off so you have to swerve and start doin 360's into oncoming traffic (luckily that didn't result in an accident). i'm also thinkin about a winter beater or maybe i should just be helpful and plow the roads with my civic that is 1/2 an inch off the ground.

I was looking for something like a Geo Metro or something like that. But then I might just roll around with snow tires.

I remember a couple of winters ago I was moving my 94 mustang gt from my buddies house where I left it cause I got caught in the first snow so I decided the roads where clear enough to get it home in the garage so I had my little bro following me in my truck I had my mom my girlfriend and other little brother in the car with me we had just passed greenacres Jr. high there on appleway and I felt the rear end slide out from under me I compensated and got the car straight again we where passing the 200 dollar lot as I call it. My whole car shot towards new deal I corrected and it shot towards that shopping center as I crossed the double yellow a Honda drove past me I missed the back of their car by like a fraction of an inch and slammed right into a snow bank! Needless to say that my white seats where no longer white!
