Here are some pix of my Impala project i thought id share. I bought it in late 2001 from Pegasus auto wrecking in Sandpoint. This car was so bad it had a maple tree growing in the interior and the trunk was used to hold chicken feed. LOL
It was loaded on to the trailer with a forklift because all the drums were seized and had enough dirt in the interior to qualify as a flower pot. I just got done hanging a new 1/4 panel and finishing the paintwork a few weeks ago so maybe i can have fun with this damn thing.
It started life as a nothing 307 powerglide bench seat car but i cloned it into a SS 396 buckets and console car complete with a rare tach dash assembly and the optional hideaway headlight option, 3.73 12 bolt posi etc. Last night i finally ran the vacuum hoses to the headlights and got them to open and close on their own! Yaay!
Now its time to relax, drink some beer and cruise it to Lost In the 50's this weekend.

How long until you try to one up Marshall with power? :) Could have your own little shop horsepower war!

Damn you guys read my mind. The overhead shots make my wheelwell area look so. . . . . . . . plain. Marshalls turbo pipes look MUCH better occupying that unused space. The torsional rigidy of the ragtop is so poor that i dont know if it could handle big power. LOL

I only did the passenger side and surprisingly, you cant buy full quarters so i had to do those retarded half quarters that completely suck. Lots of bondo no matter how good a job you do.
Yep that was me at sandpoint parked in the dealership parking lot cuz i got there too late to be in the show!

I saw this on Friday, pulling off Mission, onto Barker. I knew where it was headed by the way it looked :) It reminds me of the orange twin turbo monster. Very nice looking car. I bet it feels good on the freeway, huh?

It floats like a boat at any speed! Its a really nice car to drive everyday as the 396 is pretty mellow and the overdrive auto keeps the RPM down. Its too bad there is something going wrong with the bottom end and its getting a weird rattle when it shifts gears.
Im hoping it lasts thru the summer before i have to pull the engine.
