im tellin ya chevy did something right with these LS based motors and i would think that ford hates them because of it, (and the single cam) i mean ya you can get a mustang to move but i would imagine its gotta be hard to dial in a motor with 2 or even 4 cams compared to just one. i understand the logic on running OHC but it seems that they dont run right with multiple cams. i mean even chevy played with the DOHC in the early Zr-1s with the LT5 and it ran hard.... BUT it wasnt made by chevrolet it was made by mercruiser the boat company

I always viewed it as Ford just doing it really half assed... I remember racing a 97ish 4.6 Mustang with the GTP shortly after I got it and walking him and getting accused of spraying. :D With the new 5.0 they finally have started to wake up a bit and flex their muscle a bit. Each engine is designed to make power in different ways, and sometimes one does it better than others.

I love the 00-02 SS's, and one day will have one.

But if GM was doing it SO right, why did they have to cancel them??? Its been proven that Ford's business sense, and higher appeal to youth, has given them the overall edge.

And yes, I own a cobra. :D And a 05 Sierra, and a Honda Accord.

I have no bias.

GM marketing has always been utter crap, and I would blame the cancellation of the cars on that. Ford knows that no matter how many they make the car will typically be bought. Just look at the sales numbers of Mustangs vs F-body (camaro + Firebird) and the Mustang was generally on top. If they made it, it would sell, it's not like they take it back and crush it as soon as the next year rolls around.

GM's execution is always terrible with just about any product also. The new Camaro is a prime example of this. Some autorag made the comment of the Camaro being dated already and needing a exterior change. At first I thought it was the typical find something to complain about but than thought about it. We have seen pictures of the car floating around since something like 05 and five years later it is finally put into production. Another prime example is the Volt. They have talked about doing this since 08 iirc and don't plan to release it until 2012.

GM is the worse about listening to what their customers want. Typically they take what they ask and just do the opposite.

/end rant of former 100% GM leg humper :D

when i was saying they did right by it i wasnt talking about the f-body line persay i was more or less talking about the gen3 gen4 motors that they have built IIRC its the only pushrod v8 still being mass produced, plus there gonna get to be like the gen1 small black chevys, just flat out cheap to find, build, repair etc.etc

Yeah, back in the '80's that was true.

The new Camaro is a damn nice car, no matter what.

ya i think there a nice car to look at but the interiors are just kinda bland and wierd lookin. as far as the retro look goes i think dodge nailed it on the head with the challenger, than is a mean lookin car i think it has more of a MUSCLE look to it than the retro camaro or mustang... just my .02

definately, you can tell the challenger is a challenger, you cant tell the charger came from a charger, or any of the other ones. the new camaro kinda, in a way resembles the old one

I think we owe the retro thing to Dodge.

'member the Prowler? Then the PTCruiser (yes, it sucked 18 different ways) came along with it's very retro style. Dodge did their trucks right too. Style-wise, the retro thing worked out well. Everybody likes the idea of a classic muscle car with modern running gear.

the prowler couldve been way better if they didnt put that POS 3.5v6 in it at the very least they shouldve put one of the magnum motors in it, then it wouldve backed up its looks
