This really gets to me. Im usually a pretty law abiding driver, and it seems whenever I slip, the popo's there to nail me.

Ive only had one other ticket, that one got dropped to expired tabs.

but this morning on my way to work, I got nailed on driscoll for "ten over." Thing is i had my cruise control on 30, I use it religiously. Had i actually been speeding I'd accept it, but this is all out bullshit.

Is it possible for his gun to be that out of tune? He was a biker cop. Said hes going to be watching Driscoll all week. *heads up.

Any suggestions? If worse comes to worst, i still have my deferral to use.

If you didn't do it, go to court, plead not guilty. They - it is then the court's job to prove that you did the crime. If they say "Because we got him on Radar" - then you will request the calibration sheets. If it was calibrated properly, it is likely that your spedometer needs to be recalibrated. Are you running stock size wheels/tires?

I compared the overall outer tire diameter on my 18's to the factory tires, and they're within a 1/4". Error had to have been on his end, I could understand the cruise control being +/- 3mph, but 10?

Well it can be dependent on a lot of things. Some people have been known to get tickets because when the officer aims the gun, it hits spinner wheels and gives a false reading. lol. Anyhow, just go to court, say not guilty, and the prosecutor will likely offer you a deal - decide if you want it or not, and go from there. You are NOT obligated to take the deal, either - you can ask for a continuance and the deal will still be there - this gives you time to speak with a lawyer and make a decision - also go down to the court house and request a copy of the back of the ticket - the officer should have written a statment on it.

I hate biker cops! They are the worst man and always watch out - they nearly always hunt in packs.

Contest it and request the radar calibration sheets BEFORE court. I got off a ticket once because whomever calibrated the gun put the tuning forks in the wrong spot. The high freq fork was in the low freq spot on the paper and vice versa. Obviously a clerical error, but that doesn't cut it with court. Ticket was dropped.

Well I was taught that the best time to use cruise control is on the highway where there is not a lot of stop and go...just didn't make sense to me as to why you use cruise control in town that's all.

I was taught the same thing to I just use my foot to keep me at speed in town sometime i go 2-3 miles over but never been given any trouble about it. My little brother uses cruse control in town and it drives me nuts! But to each his own I guess! It's funny the only speeding ticket I have ever gotten was in a geo storm! Never been popped in my mustangs or my truck! Its odd but I guess if you follow the rules they leave you alone ignorance is bliss:D

FYI: Im driving to SCC every morning from out past Suncrest, I use CC on the highway and on Driscoll (no lights) until I hit Wellesley, after that I drive normal.

Easiest way is to go on market where they got those electric radars next to speed limits, they show your speed as you pass them. Pretty accurate, my speedo that is.

I did the same thing once too They are required to calibrate gun every 3 years and if they can't prove there calibration gets dropped everytime.

FYI: I know this is an old thread, but I ended up paying the prosecuting attorney a visit (no court bullshit), and the attorney gladly dropped it to a $101 no-tabs ticket, just like the one I had dropped in the valley to the same thing one month before.

...Still got a clean record hehe....

word of advice: the attorney told me this time is probably the last time I could save my asss this way for a while. He said they try to cap it to two tickets in every 2 years, so I gotta watch my ass for a while.

Your speedo is off. How fast did he say you were going?

Well, I ended up getting a copy of the LASER calibration sheet (not radar), and it said 43mph at a distance of 583 feet. Im gonna run that market radar thing tonight, and then after I get my 18's mounted this weekend.
