I gotta get somebody to post video of a few of my runs tonight. I didnt improve my best ET at all but had a hoot launching the front end in the air to what appears to be the 80 ft mark after watching the video! Cut a 1.35 60 ft time and definitely tripped the beams with the undercarriage or back tires.
Ran a best of a 9.47@148 on a crappy 1.53 60 ft time when i botched the launch experimenting with the nitrous. Next run wheelied to the 1.35 short time, missed the 1-2 shift by a country mile because i had both hands on the wheel. That sucker bout gutted the steering linkage when it landed and went into bumpsteer until it rebounded and pulled em back up for a split second.
2nd gear is slipping now and another turbo blew apart ending the nights fun. Who cares i had a blast!!!!!

that launch was awsome!!!! you did trip the 60ft with the rears, and I got a great view of the top of your hood from the staging lanes. I would say your next investment would have to be a set of wheelie bars.

Nice way to end the season, Marty.

Looking foward to seeing the vid!

Thanks guys! I really wanted to scrape the back bumper paint off just because i thought it would look cool driving it around that way. LOL
The bumper got close to the ground in the vid but dammit! Not a scratch. The front end problem really was a surprise to me the way it acted when it came down. It touches down so light that all the steering linkage goes crazy and bumpsteers like a bitch. It was so violent i thought it was gonna break something.

who is running the white fox body?

It belongs to Eric at SMC Customs. Dynoed at over 1000 hp the other day on PTR's dyno. The thing was rich as hell and ran mid 9's at low boost so you know its gonna thunder.
I dont get why it was so rich if they dynoed it but it was puking black smoke and once its leaned out it should really rip!

Nice job Marty!!!
I missed your first pass but got to see the 9.4 pass. Car looks great!!!

Thanks Russ! The 9.4 pass launch was a dud and it took me a bit to figure out why. I was still leery of hitting it too hard and breaking stuff so the plan was to launch like the first run with out spray and then tip it in a few feet out.
I didnt think about what happens when you lift off the gas a bit to shut the microswitch off then pop the transbrake. My foot let off the gas when it hit and the car fell flat! LOL
The last run was the good wheelie and i simply matted the bitch on the spray and left it there and it went up pretty far. Dammit im debating fixing the turbo this week and doing it again friday but adding about 300 rpm to the 2 step and ripping the back bumper off.
I know it will do it now that i have a feel for the power level required. And i got a LOT of firepower left i can use off the line.
.............. I really want to rip my back bumper off and bend some control arms. I mean honestly, who cares? Its not some rare early muscle car but a mulletard Trans AM and parts are CHEAP! LOL

Here is a pix that was taken with my crappy ancient VHS-C recorder, a snapshot of my TV screen by my Droid phone, sent to my email address, saved in my computer and then uploaded here. Jeez. LOL

That would be badass! Turbos are stupid fun. They sure break all the rules when it comes to the right combo. Im still a bit surprised that switching to 2.75 rear gears can launch like that.

Marty you should just sell the kit and throw on one of steve's with some bigger turbos.

Are you breaking the beams with the back tires?

Are you breaking the beams with the back tires?
I watched it on my crappy vhs video in slo-mo and it settles the tires when the back bumper is even with the 60 ft boxes. That makes about 70 feet of air and as it crossed the 60, it was still close to a foot in the air.
How low do the timer eyeballs sit in those boxes? Either way, im really happy with a 1.35 time!
