Just to keep everyone on the same page, Eric Turner went into the hospital last night- he was having problems breathing. Found out that his left lung collapsed. Its nothing to worry about completely. They said that it happens most often in tall, skinny (lol, not so much eric :)) males. They said also that its sporatic and that nothing really caused it...strange. Anyway, thank god for health insurance, right? He was in last night and will be in hopefully until this afternoon.

Damn. Glad to hear he's ok. First I've heard about lungs collapsing on guys such as myself and eric. The tall, slender builds that is, skinny is such a harsh word. I wish him the best for a speedy recovery.

looks like i may be here for a week or so... lung has a hole in it and stuff.... blah.. this sucks.. i have a decision to make... there is an operation that can take away most of the risk of this happening again, but my lung will only work at 85% from that time forward. If I don't have the operation done, there is a 40% chance it will happen again, and if it does, a 90% chance it will happen again too...
thanks for all the best wishes, guys.

At least you have access to the net while ur in the hospital. I would go insane from channel surfing on the 10 television all day long - Unless you get speed channel :-)
Hope the SX goes well tomorrow and a speedy recovery too!

These pictures should NOT be enlarged if you are squeamish to blood!!!
Surgery went all well on Friday - I was just chilling Saturday and Sunday, and this morning (Monday) my Surgeon came in to say HI and take the tube out. After removing the tape over the wound, it looked like this:
[attachment=239]
Note the black stitches at the skin please. Now in the next picture, the tube is removed and sitting on the bed.
[attachment=240]
Note the same black stitches. That tube is LONG! Anyhow, I am currently sitting in bed waiting for the Hospitalist to come clear me to go home. I am going to go spend some downtime healing in Deer Park...

Yeah, they won't let me have the tube - too bloody. lol. they put it in a bag with the biological tixic sign on it and took it away. LOL. this darn hospitalist person needs to come and clear me to go! i ordered my last meal here: 4 chicken strips, some mac&cheese, a mt. dew, and 4 sweet&sour sauces. YUM!!!! .... NOT. But I don't have any cash on me to eat on my way home. lol. I am waiting for my food now, and for the hospitalist to come remove this IV tap into my arm, and to sign my release papers and i'll be outty baby! I can breathe very well right now. Score.

Hospitalist? lol....nice word ;)
A hospitalist is a Doctor that wanders the hospitals all day long and they do nothing but admit, release and see hospital patients. It's kind of a new thing that the hospitals are starting to do.??Eric-glad your doing okay. Which hospital are you or have you been in? I work at Holy Family and would have come to see you if you were here.
