My goal next year is Low 12's (12.2 or lower) for $1200 or less. Mods are in profile, and I will need a few more things!

EBay Fmic and local Mandrel Bending I/C Pipes - $300
DSMLink - $500
Injectors 680 or larger - $220
That leaves $180 for a MAF-T setup.

Think the car can break into the 12.2's on race gas with this setup? So long as I can drive it right, I don't see much of an issue.


Ideas? Possible other build orders?

i think I could drive it to a low 12 as it sits now with the tranny shifting right.

I don't think you could without abusing the hell out of it. It has no means of tuning. I am not looking to beat the hell out of the car to get it to my goals.

I also ordered a Clutch Fork, Fulcrum Pivot Ball & Shim washer, Stainless Clutch Line, OEM TOB, and OEM Slave Cylinder. Not much else that could go wrong. It has new Master Cylinder.

Do you think the mods above are good to do? I don't see any problems - It will be one of the better built DSM's in the area - maybe not the fastest, but I think that would be a good build.

I will see how the tranny feels when it is disengaging properly, but I have never made it a habbit to shift real fast at the expense of the tranny. I let the motor do the work.

Oh - and I want to make this goal withot the use of Nitrous at this time. I know that would be the cheapest/easiest way to do it, and I'm not scared of it, I just don't want to be refilling bottles all the time.

Never have to refill boost. Crank that psi and drop your tire pressure and start playing with different combos. With what you've got just start throwing different variables at it and see what happens.

Lower tire pressure? =D Why? I don't spin much at all...

But... I just realized something.. I need to expand the budget a couple hundred dollars. I need new struts. My Koni Yellows and KYB AGX's are blown - I don't have a recipt of sale for the Koni's, so they won't warranty them - I have not found any warranty info for the KYB's.. Does anyone on this site sell these products and want to maybe print a recipt from a few years ago.. ? ;)

Yes - they are listed up top as one of the initial upgrades. I will need 550's or larger for my goal. I am looking for some cheap EVO injectors (560cc) or others. I will see....

I think that the DSMLink alone and injectors will get you to 12s. Without any tuning ability right now, you must be getting fuel cut anywhere above 15psi? And if you're not spinning on the launch at all, you definetely need DSMLink to get yourself some anti-lag lol.

But that is due to shit struts. They need rebuilt. Koni Yellows and KYB AGX's.
I know that DSMlink and Injectors will get me into the 12's, but I would have to cool down a long time between runs and tuning would be a bitch, seeing as i would have to let the car cool down after each 3rd gear pull before making changes and doing another. a FMIC is a must. I am currently fuel cutting at 15psi easily.

We'll see! I don't think I am too far away from the goals.

I think I might need to find a spare dark grey passenger seat to mount some naws bottles inside of, I picked up a bunch of little bottles last week.

Ooh, right here. 12.8 with a bad timing belt tensioner and broken balance shaft belt tuned on an AFC with a 255 in the tank, a filter, 3" exhaust and a fmic. ohh and a freshly built oem engine.

K, So I found MAF-T for $75, NEW 680 Injectors for $200, and FMIC with piping for $100 if I want the FMIC to look like crap bu work OK. I think I will get a different FMIC, for cosmetic reasons. $300 or so.
So that just leaves DSMlink
FMIC=$300
INJECTORS=200
MAFT&MAS=105
so that's 605, leaves me $600 for other stuff like DSMlink, and that should put me well into the broken part range. Nice! :) I think I am going to like this car! hehe

custom air/water IC, $40
walbro 255
aeromotive FPR
MAFT setup
2 nitrous solenoids and some jets, already have bottles.
3 inch exhaust
When I overspool the 14b and it starts spewing oil then I'll throw a 56trim of a 3065 on it with an external dump.

11's on the 14b without nitrous would be cool. With nitrous would not be too far out of sight. 14b record is in the 10's..

Ok, let me clarify, lol. 11.9's on the 14b on pump gas and no bottle. Relying heavily on weight reduction and tuning. so prolly februalry roll over to dyno authority and spend 3 or 4 hours tuning it.
