Well i really like the spool characteristics of the 50trim that i'm currently running, i want something that will be able to support 400whp without straying too far from the 50trim. After looking over a couple comp maps the GT3255 looks exactly like what i'm looking for. Price wise, its still affordable too!
For whatever reason its just not a popular turbo within the Honda community, probably because everyone is sprung off the BB shit. After some searching on the net i was able to find that its quite popular among the DSM guys.
Can anyone here give some personal experience or 2nd-3rd hand experience?
From what i was able to find it flows 55lbs, and rated @ 520hp. It supposed to flow more cfms and spool up just as fast as the 50trim. I've looked at the 57trim but if i go that route i think i'll be compromising street spool more than i'd like.
thanks.

Are you going with a Mitsu-Style flange? If so, why don't you explain what you want out of a turbo, and the price range, and i'll see what I can think of...
I have no experience with that turbo.

Are you thinking of the 3052? A 3255 isn't talked of much with the DSM croud. The 3052 on the other hand, has been and is a rave for street driven high HP DSMs.

i was just looking at the comp maps and efficenty range of both turbos and for something like a dsm the gt30r or gt3071r would be great turbos in my option a gt30r w/.82 or .63 a/r would be a nice set-up a .63 hotside would be a great car for the street but in drags the .82 hotside would def have a benefit, but looks at the charts for the gt32 and gt30r the gt30r would take u farther than a gt32 would just for efficiency and range of the turbo
i should also add typically unless it is like a gt30 "r" or something w/ an "R" at the end it is not ball bearing unles its been modified

This is going in my Honda. The GT3076 is a strong candidate but its more than what i want to spend. The GT3255 is a jounal bearing but uses the newer technology garrett wheels.
The new Borg Warner turbos with the extended tip technology looks pretty killer too, but then again its in the 1200 price range. A little bit more than i want to throw at a turbo. :(

Why are you getting rid of the 50trim? It can support over 400hp.

Yeah, there are one or two guys making 400whp or close to it with similar setup as mine but its pretty much maxed out. Garrett rates their turbos HP at the crank, 50trim is rated for 425-450? So its safe to assume that 350-370whp would be pushing it, what do you think?
also, for the single cam Honda motors, they don't flow as well as the Dual cam B-series motors, so turbo manifold design is probably gonna make a big difference too. Honda tuners like, Jeff Evans, suggest that at high boost levels with the single cam heads using a log manifold, exhaust reversion is the biggest obstacle to getting big hp out of the little motors.
So, new turbo manifold is top of the list, and secondly, new turbo.

I was wondering if it had something to do with your motor and not the turbo as there are quite afew Evo guys running 400+whp with them on pump. Race tunes and 30psi will get you close to 500whp.

75mm bore and only 1.6 liters, it takes lots a boost to get these things making power.

I like the gt35's.**If I were in the market for a turbo, and was willing/able to dump the money needed to support that kind of turbo I would..
