Hy, guys this is Mike McDanel alot of you guys know me pretty well. My sister in law who is 19 yrs old was abducted/kidnapped and we need your help to find her! She was last seen leaving work at subway by the walmart supercenter on the northside at 11:30pm on 6/22/06 she has a silver 93' mustang license plate number 854-NPQ.

Public’s Help Sought In Missing Woman Investigation
Sheriff’s major crimes detectives have asked for the public’s help to locate a 19-yearold
woman who went missing sometime last Thursday.
Jamie Lynn Drake has an apartment in the 1200 block of East Westview in North
Spokane County. She is a recent graduate of Mead High School, and is Caucasian,
5’01” tall, 125 pounds with brown hair and eyes.
Drake drives a silver 1993 Ford Mustang which has very dark tinted windows, a short
spoiler on the trunk lid and some type of racing sticker or decal on the back. Drake has
raced the car at the Friday Night Drags at Spokane Raceway Park.
The car is missing as well. Its Washington license plate is 854NPQ.
Detectives have determined that following her Thursday night shift at the East Colton
Subway sandwich shop, she drove to her boyfriend’s apartment in the 2300 block of East
Sanson.
Drake spent the night there and was seen early Friday when the boyfriend left for
work, and again a few hours later when the boyfriend’s roommate left the house. Both
she and the Mustang were gone when the roommate returned home at 1:45 p.m. Friday.
Drake was a no-show for her next two shifts at the Subway store which is very
uncharacteristic, according to her employer and family.
Detectives advise witnesses to call 9-1-1 immediately if Drake or the Mustang is
spotted, so that an officer or deputy can be dispatched to investigate. Otherwise,
information regarding Jamie Lynn Drake or her car can be given by calling 509-477-4760
between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and 509-532-8934 from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Missing Woman Update
Detectives have developed information that Kevin Wayne Newlund, 20, is familiar
with the victim and her female roommate, and that he lived with them as recently as two
months ago.
Information has also been developed that Newlund was seen driving a vehicle very
similar to Jamie Lynn Drake’s 1993 Mustang about the time she went missing. It is as
yet undetermined if the car was actually Drake’s car.
Detectives do not have an address for Newlund, and wish to interview him in regard to
this investigation.
Anyone with information regarding Kevin Newlund’s whereabouts is asked to call
509-477-4760 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., or 509-532-8934 between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Any sighting of Jamie Lynn Drake or her silver 1993 Ford Mustang, Washington plate
854NPQ, should be immediately reported to 9-1-1.

Missing Mustang Found, Acquaintance Arrested
King County Sheriff’s deputies, acting on Spokane County’s probable cause, arrested
the acquaintance of a missing 19-year-old Mead woman about 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Kevin Wayne Newlund, 20, was located in Maple Valley, Washington and arrested for
Possession of Stolen Property, Jamie Lynn Drake’s 1993 Ford Mustang.
Sheriff’s major crimes detectives here spent the day Tuesday looking for Drake and
her car. A spokesman said Tuesday night that information regarding how Newlund was
located would not immediately be released.
“He is in custody on our probable cause and we have the Mustang,” said Sgt. Jim
Goodwin. “I expect we will decide (Wednesday) how best to return the car to Spokane
County for further investigation.”
Detectives have not had an opportunity to speak with Newlund, a former boyfriend of
Drake’s female roommate. Investigation Tuesday revealed that he had lived with the
two women as recently as two months ago.
Jamie Drake disappeared sometime Friday and was reported missing by family
members Saturday.
Although there was no immediate evidence that she was a crime victim, detectives
reviewing the case learned that she had missed work shifts at her job over the weekend,
something out of character for an employee considered to be very reliable.
Also, Drake had no history that would indicate she would willingly fall out of contact
with friends and family.
Four major crimes detectives spent all day Tuesday canvassing the neighborhood
where Drake lived, as well as the area around the residence of a new male acquaintance.
Interviews with those friends and family failed to reveal Drake’s whereabouts.
The missing person case remains under active investigation. Anyone with information
regarding the whereabouts of Jamie Drake can provide it to detectives by calling 477-
4760 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., or 532-8934 between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Hopefully she is doing ok they find her soon. On a side note the news people's info they have posted isn't too accurate referring to her "boyfriend" and it wasn't an "apartment" on "east sanson." No doubt, they were questioning my room mates and I and another person at my house, they didn't think to get the other person's phone number, address, or any other info other than his name pretty much. They came back after the first time they left because they forgot to get our license plate numbers. Hopefully whoever took or knows jamie is dumber than our "detectives" so that she can be found in a timely manner and brought back safe.

We all just hope she is fine. Jamie has always been a fun & happy girl. I have never seen her without a smile on her face. :)

She is a strong girl just like her big sister and mom. They are bringing back her Mustang to Spokane to do some tests on.

I'm going to clear some shit up here real quick.

The TRUTH is she stayed at my house with my roommate. Jamie and my roomie have known each other for quite a long time. BUT According to the news however, Jamie stayed at her "boyfriends apartment" or a mere "acquaintance" she actually stayed with my room mate who is NOT her boyfriend, nor do we live in an Apartment. The news also says she was last seen on the east side of town, BULLSHIT, I live west of divsion. The news also said she disappeared after work thursday night, WRONG. She arrived at my house in normal clothes, jeans/t-shirt she also brought along some PJ's with her. My room mate who Muffstain girl wants to accuse of having something to do with it was at Guard Duty for the Air National Guard at 6 a.m. I would tell ya to call them and check to see, but I will not release his name as we are already dealing with enough shit from everyone.
I was the last confirmed person to see her. I was up at about 9:30 a.m. to get my car ready for H.S. Drags, I started a load of laundry at 10:30ish and she was still in my room mates room sleeping. I left and returned around 11:30ish, her car was still here and she was still sleeping when I put my clothes in the dryer. I then left again at about 12 and upon returning at 1:30-1:45 her car was gone. I now ask that before anyone else wants to make themselves look like asses, please know the facts and not make assumptions.

We are doing our best to cooperate with the investigators to get Jamie home as quickly and safely as possible. I spoke with Mike and Rachael and got the investigators over here. From there they searched our house and and shop turned them upside down for any signs of anything related to her disappearance, but they found nothing. We have given them contact information to others for them to question. We have also been getting calls from private numbers ALL hours of the night where when we answer, they just sit there in dead silence for anywhere from 5-30 seconds and then hang up. We have also tried to notify the detectives of this and I tried to get my carrier to see if they can figure out the numbers that are calling us.

Thank you 97GSX for trying to keep people from making wrongful assumptions. Any other questions or comments people have i will do my best to answer or reply to.

I think what April was meaning to say was that the guy they arrested driving her car may have something to do with it, not that you or your roommates did. She refered to "the person of interest". Granted, I may be wrong, but that's just what I got out of her posts. But then again, I have spoken with April many times and understand what she is meaning to say.

BTW, with your hang up calls, my stepmom went through the same thing with her ex husband calling all hours of day and night. We contacted the phone company and they gave us a code to punch in after the person hung up that recorded the time and number of the call. You may try seeing if your phone company does something like that. It definitely helped with my stepmom's situation....

If she was referring to Kevin as the boyfriend, he is Jamie's room mates ex b/f. The newspaper has been referring to my room mate as her boyfriend and also the acquaintance. Thanks for the info on the phone company, I'm going talk to them some more tomorrow and see if we can't get something figured out. I'm not going to apologize if someone thinks I'm coming off in a rude manner, we are tired of doing everything we can to help, but only to have people turn around and point fingers at us. Its gone so far as to even have guys show up to our house ready to fight b/c they think we are hiding Jamie somewhere.

My condolences go out to you and your family Mike, I'm very sorry for the loss. This isn't something any of us in a million years would have thought would happen to someone close to us. Jamie and I weren't super close, we were however becoming good friends, but still knowing that I was one of the last people to see her, I feel as though I should/could have done something to alter the chain of events, now we are left with mourning family and friends and I lay awake thinking of hundreds of "what if's." Your family and Jamie are in my prayers, godspeed and may Jamie and God look out for us all in the future.
