So I finally got some time to work on the Talon this weekend and found some interesting things.

It looks as though the transfer case locked and then spun the splines on the input shaft and destroyed the internals in the transfer case. The person who tried to repair it before i got it tried to removed the transfer case and input shaft without removing the trans...and jammed it up against the oil pan. Then they removed the transmission bolts and pulled the transmission off the engine(without lowering the engine) and got the transmission locked in above the subframe. So after about 2 hours of fighting a bunch of stuck shit, I got the transfer case and transmission out of the car.
It looks like the flywheel teeth got a little banged up at some point either before I got the car...or after I got pissed at the car, but Russ hooked me up with a good flywheel and clutch setup.

The rear end is out of the car, I am assuming to try and get the driveline out of the transfer case (still attached when I picked up the car), but I dont think that there is anything wrong with the rear end.

The only other shitty part is that the exhaust is not on the car...at all. So unless I can find a used exhaust somewhere I will have to fab something all the way from the turbo back.

So you are the one that bought that POS in CDA. I was so pissed at that kid. Said he had the title in hand over the phone. Arrive with cash, sorry no title dude. Ooh well; at least it got a good home :-)

Also, Im not sure what the DSMheads around here have available to them, but if anyone would be willing to supply a heated garage for a weekend and help me get this pig running I would be most greatful...and supply beer and pizza.

just FYI, the car would be taken out of said garage Sunday running or not.

Yeah, the title issue was easily resolved, but I came into it knowing it didnt have a title.
