It was was $50 last year. The park is not a sponsor, about $22 of that $50 goes strait to the park. We had to book as a group and pay for the venue.
So a sanctioned event with over 50 awards and a theme/water park for $50, you wont find a better deal in the NW*shrugs* A ticket to the park alone is $44.51.

I may or may not be going.. I'd love to go for the car show, but not a big theme park guy. so 50 for a car show plus gas out there, who knows though i've heard its fun.

No offense marble but 95% of the people who attend the car show in previous years have done so because it was one hell of a deal, not because they are into car shows, etc, etc. Your show last year was $50 in an area where the average income per capita is much higher than over here, and from what I heard the "show" was nothing compared to the silverwood ones of the past. From a pure business point of view if you even end up getting 10% of the number of attendee's as previously then you are going to need to be making 900% more off of each one than if you are only making a small amount off of each atendee but have a large number of atendee's, AND if it did like previous years and was a record attendance day for silverwood then you can use the added income from park visitors to leverage a better deal from the park.

In summary.

If you make $10 off of 100 people attending thats $1000

If you make $2 off of 1000 people attending thats $2000

The other show at Wild Waves was at capacity. The park is very small so only 150 cars would fit inside the park and the small part of the lot that we were allowed to use.
Bottom line is the park is not a sponsor and gets $25 per person that comes...this includes my staff. $10 goes to F4 per car that they judge. Thats $35 gone right away from that fee.
With the economy sponsors from the past are putting in half of what we were getting previous years and some could not do anything at all. So most of that $15 thats left goes to the awards and other overhead costs.

We are making basiclly nothing on this event but are still trying to do it because we love the automotive scene. Even with the economy there are people that still love the car culture and want to get together and show their rides.

Almost ALL major events have been canceled this year for the car show crowd. Nobody is offering more awards and more to do do at an event for the money. If people dont want to support the few things still going on that thats their choice, just dont expect there to be much in the future if things continue the way they have been.
