I absolutely love the idea of some close cource street races, but I doubt that'd ever happen. As I remember the whole main reason for the county to buy the track was to give people a place to race and keep it off the street. Personally I dont see the point in the county sinking more and more money into it if they are just going to run main events, and road cource and have people drag racing on the street endangering people as there is no place else to go. Its great that we have a track but they need to figure out priorities IMO.

yeah, I never enter the big dollar races, i cannot afford to pay $1500 to enter a race..... but the $50k payday would be nice!

The schedule better have more than 12...12 is still NOT ENOUGH. We used to have literally between 25 and 30 points races...not to mention the other events like Dave Rogers Memorial, Mopar races, WORLD FINALS, yada yada....I bet in those days there were 40+ race dates not including the FNSR program....and the road course was also running then. Maybe not as often but still, it was. So, the track and its failure to schedlue races is simply a choice by SCR. They wants the place to succeed, so why not have the doors open as much as possible....I know in the industry I work in, if the doors arent open we aint makin money....and this is no different.

As far as the IHRA is concerned....pretty sure the only reason this track isnt IHRA now is because of the uproar everyone made about making the switch last year when it was rumored....and I believe if another attempt be made to make it IHRA we'll have the same uproar once again. No one around here wants IHRA...and if they do chose to go with that sactioning body, it'll be just that many more racers that travel to other tracks (as they are already doing now, myself included).

Im for as many races as possible. but remember Mr O used to double book the track, making us wait at the gate for hours. even if they reroute the road course it can cause a major cluster in the pits, let alone driver safety. Its a tuff juggle to get them all on site. last year many did not like all the sat&sun races.
